We’d like to encourage everyone to think about the positive impacts that shopping, eating, and giving locally have on our community.

Locally-owned, independent businesses are the foundation of our county’s economy. Support local retailers and service providers by doing your holiday shopping with them. Also, just because the weather is supposed to be cool doesn’t mean there isn’t still plenty of local food to enjoy for the holidays. This means that the money you spend locally will get filtered back in your local economy. Nobody wants to live in a neighborhood that lacks a small business culture. Over the past two decades, small businesses have generated around 65% of new jobs.

Local non-profits contribute significantly to the quality of our community and can use all the help they can get during these challenging economic times. Consider a monetary gift or volunteer some time. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated and you’ll feel great for helping out. After all, that’s what this season is about. We live in the best county in the world. Take the time to enjoy the season and all its bounty along with your family and friends.
