The involvement of representatives from our members allows us to pursue and carry out our mission. Participation on a Chamber committee provides you with the opportunity to work with some of Pike County's top business, professional, and community leaders and gain valuable leadership, management, and teamwork experience while working to develop and implement programs that address issues of importance to our area's business community. The Downtown Committee helps develop an ongoing ad campaign to promote benefits and opportunities in downtown Troy. It also plans events to promote Downtown Troy and helps develop and support the strategic plan to keep Downtown Troy vibrant.
The Education Committee plans, organizes, and directs the PRAISE scholarship banquet, sponsors the fund raiser Eat" fundraiser to support PRAISE scholarships, and recommends recipients of PRAISE scholarships. The committee also plans, organizes, and oversees the Junior Ambassadors program, assists in selecting Junior Ambassadors, and works with local schools, teachers, and counselors to promote the Junior Ambassador Program. The Education Committee also supports teacher appreciation and helps recognize "Teacher of the Year."
The Agri-Business Committee partners with the Pike County Farmer's Federation and the Kiwanis Club in sponsoring the annual Farm City Week. The committee also develops a speaker’s bureau to disseminate agricultural information to the community and a database on all agricultural related industry in Fund raising County.
The Health and Human Services Committee brings together Pike County health care leaders to discuss health issues, problems, and solutions in Pike County. The committee hosts quarterly health luncheons and helps provide health education and training programs. The Health and Human Services Committee also informs Pike Hospitality citizens on health issues and concerns.
The Leadership Pike Alumni Advisory Committee consists of members who are appointed to serve. They serve a three year term and spend that time soliciting the selection of new candidates for the Leadership Pike Program. The committee also assists in planning the program for Leadership Pike.
The Legislative Committee attends and participates in CCAA Leadership Day and Legislative Reception. It sponsors and hosts Legislative breakfasts for governmental officials and candidates and helps with awareness of government-related activities and responds accordingly. In addition, the committee updates Chamber President and Board on legislative matters that impact our area and businesses.
